+ What is an Emotional Wellness Coach?

Emotional wellness is, according to the University of California-Riverside, “implies the ability to be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them, have an optimistic approach to life, and enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations.”

Most of us at an early age were discouraged from acknowledging our needs and feelings and were taught to fit in to what others expect and not stray from our role. Self-care is something that we feel guilty about, especially those of us in servant professions such as health and teaching because we have made caring for others our life’s work. An Emotional Wellness Coach is someone who takes neuroscience, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology principles to develop a personal plan of action that breaks through your self-imposed barriers into action steps that you can implement within your current lifestyle, not working against it.

+ How is Emotional Wellness Coaching different than therapy?

This one is another common question as I want to be very clear: in NO WAY am I a counselor, therapist, or psychologist. I will not take on clients who are in a major crisis (unable to perform daily activities, at risk of harming themselves or others) because these people require major medical intervention.

However, while we may be able to function in our daily lives, are experiencing feelings of anxiety, disillusionment, feeling jaded and overwhelmed. Modern life pressures us to keep on going forever and none of us feel like we can slow down. Emotional wellness coaching is for those of us who are not satisfied with the daily grind. You deserve a life that is far more than work and sleep.

+ What are the benefits of Emotional Wellness Coaching?

If you’re like me, we give GREAT advice: care for yourself before you an care for others, slow down, go outside and move more, be more mindful and/or grateful, etc. but the “walking the walk” part of the equation is either lacking in consistency or these aspects tend to be the first to slide back when we’re under stress. Why? I’ve noticed in others that a big part of this is that we’re way more likely to be accountable to others than ourselves. In my coaching, think of me as the sassy friend who not only is willing to call you out (lovingly) on your bullshit but also work with you in the trenches or brainstorm with you to find ways we can “fit in” the action steps that will bring you closer to more calm, fulfillment, and joy in your life.

+ What's my time commitment with coaching?

You’re a busy professional with a to do list a mile long that never seems to end, I understand that coaching may seem like trying to carve a dining room table out of three twigs and a matchbox, but it really doesn’t take as much time as you expect. The sessions themselves are 50 min every other week and the exercises we work through are meant to take no longer than 15 minutes a day, usually less. When we do a kick off session we examine what your normal routine is so we can fit in habits that are realistic and make sense with the time you have to work with.

+ Do you do group coaching?

Not at this time, although it’s something I’m looking to expand to in the near future (if you don’t want to miss out, I suggest being added to my list to get insider info and exclusive bonuses). However, I do facilitate workshops for organizations (in all sectors) as I believe that reducing turnover and burnout is not just a personal issue but a far-reaching and frustrating situation that should be addressed on all levels. If you’re interested in this, reach out and we can talk about your unique needs and how best my coaching process and topics can be adapted to address your company-specific problems.

+ Are you willing to speak at my event, conference, etc? Can I interview you on my podcast?

Oh wow, I’m so humbled you asked me. My topics of expertise are mental health, preventing burnout, self care, resilience, productivity, and work-life balance. Let’s talk about if I’m a good fit for your event or podcast by emailing me at crystal@phoenixhealthcoaching.info

+ Are there payment plan options?

Yes, I do allow people to pay monthly instead of in full. Hop on the phone with me and if we decide to move forward with coaching, we can discuss the payment plan options as this typically depends on the length of the coaching program.

+ Is this right for me?

I get it. Coaching can be a scary investment. It’s going out of your comfort zone. I invested in group coaching as I started designing the life and business I wanted and that’s when I personally saw forward momentum and got the clarity I needed to take action. If you’re still not sure, check out my “Work with Me” page and see if what I do and how I do it really speaks to you. You can apply to jump on a call and we can talk about it in person.

+ How do we get started?

First, let’s see if we are a good fit. I suggest checking out my Work with me page and checking out my coaching packages to see if my process aligns to what you want to focus on in your life and career. I really want to make sure I can help you and that we’re a good fit so I ask you to fill out an application so we can zero in on what’s frustrating you and be clear on the blocks that are preventing you from feeling calm, fulfilled, and able to spend time on what really matters to you. Then, we can talk via Zoom to see if I can help you get where you want to go.

+ What should I do if I have more questions?

If there’s anything that hasn’t been covered on my website, head on over to my Contact page and get a hold of me through there. Can’t wait to chat with you.
